After a fantastic win against West Brom last week, Swansea found themselves on the end of a 4 – 1 defeat to Chelsea. Swansea played well in stages of the game and were giving Chelsea a run for their money. In fact, Swansea had more possession throughout the course of the game and forced more corners; suggesting they should have got more out of today.
Chelsea got themselves a much needed win after they suffered defeat last week at the hands of Manchester United. Although Chelsea won out with a convincing score line they did find it hard at times to get a foot hold on the game.
Swansea again were playing some good possession football in the first 15 – 20 minuets of the game as Chelsea were struggling to keep hold of the ball; long enough to string a few passes together.
Torres found himself making headlines again after he opened the scoring on 29 minuets calmly slotting home from a nice ball by Juan Mata.
10 minuets later he found himself heading for the tunnel after receiving a red card for a reckless two footed tackle on Gower.
I’m not sure if it was Malicious, clumsy or a momentary rush of blood... Either way it deserved a red.
Ramires helped himself to a brace either side of the half before Williams pulled a much deserved goal back for the Swans. The comeback wasn’t to be though as Didier Drogba added a forth to seal the three points and keep there title challenge alive.
Swansea can take comfort out of the fact that they can play football with the best and give them more than just a game. As well as that, they can start to believe that they are not a million miles away from where they need to be.
