Wigan (H)

Michael Vorm was yet again making a name for himself after his superb debut against Manchester City in the first game of the season. He managed to save a penalty in Swansea’s first home fixture of the season against Wigan on Saturday earning Swansea a well deserved point.

Swansea dominated large parts of the game but could not seem to take advantage of the fact while Danny Graham failed to capitalise on a bag full of chances.  To be fair though, they were also let off the hook with the aid of the crossbar after Gomez and Mosses had Vorm beaten.

Wigan had there share of chances, one of which was a brilliantly struck effort from Gomez which came back off the woodwork. Gomez was causing Swansea problems again when he was brought down in the box after following up the shot from Mosses that came back off the woodwork. It was here that Vorm shown his quality by saving the spot kick to deny Ben Watson the opening goal.

Chances came early on for Swansea, Graham raced through on goal but never hit the target and shortly after that, saw his headed effort just go wide. Some good link up play from Routledge and Sinclair almost crafted out an opening goal for Graham but it just wasn’t going to happen for him today.

It was a nervy last ten minuets for Swansea but honours finished even which was probably a fair result.
